I have decided to try out this "blogging" thing. I am a bit of a perfectionist so I may never actually complete and post anything, but I am going to try. (It takes me weeks to commit to my final newsletter I publish for work!) This picture is from Easter Sunday. Burt did a fantastic job setting up the camera on our grill to get this great family pic! I really want to share some of the most recent happenings with the boys so keep reading...

Jack Henry was born on February 21, 2008 and our lives are, of course, forever changed. Everyone told me how different it would be with 2 children and it is different, but different in a GOOD way. We are enjoying every minute; especially watching Colin grow into the role of Big Brother. He loves to give Jack Henry kisses and give Burt and I directions on what we need to do (ie. feed him, pick him up, put him in the bouncy seat, my personal favorite!)
We have had lots of fun since Jack Henry was born. Colin has been staying home most days with us - I just can't seem to take him to school because he is so much fun. I like to eat lunch with him - we have excellent conversation at lunch. We discuss Sesame Street and things like weebles and applesauce. I never knew how exciting all of that could be. The best of all is when Colin randomly offers a kiss and says, " I love you Mommy!".
We have traveled to Chesterfield to visit the boys' great grandmother, Ma Ma Brock, and their great-great grandmother, YES, great-great Grandma Rivers. Colin was especially excited about this trip because his BIG cousin Devon went with us.
We had great fun at Build-A-Bear with Devon. Colin just wanted to watch and Jack Henry slept through all the fun! Devon built his new friend, DJ the Dino.

Kristie and Carl (also known as "istie" and "daddle") came to visit over Easter weekend. We went to an Easter Egg hunt but weren't very successful. Colin didn't get any eggs because there were about 5 million kids and all the eggs were gone in seconds. He is really a happy-go-lucky boy because he didn't even care at all - he just smiled with his empty basket :).

Burt dyed Easter eggs with Colin and we had our own egg hunt in the backyard. This time, Colin did find lots of eggs. He loved checking in each one to see if there were jellybeans!

The very next weekend Uncle Andy and Aunt Terri came to visit with Gavin. The boys are looking more and more alike and they had a ball together. That Sunday Grandma and Pa Huggins came with Granny Lucille to visit us. It was Granny's first time meeting Jack Henry!

Burt's 29th birthday was April 1st and we celebrated at our house. Colin picked out the birthday cake -A Finding Nemo cake! Burt loved it. We decorated the table and had b'day plates and napkins. We had to light the candles two times b/c Colin wanted to blow them out again. He sang "Happy B'day to Daddy" for the next few days.

The next week, we decided to spend some time in Charleston - we are awfully bored with Daddy Burt at work all the time. We visited with Nona and Bop Sellers, Devon and Aunt La La. Jack Henry and I got to visit with English and her baby boy Will. Kristie and Carl came to visit us too. We spent some time out at Bop's friends beach house - it was fantastic!

Who knows where our adventures will take us next? I will be home with Jack Henry for 3 more weeks and then it is back to the real world of work, but for now, I choose to pretend that this is it...just time, time and more time with my boys. We are all looking forward to April 15 when we finally get our Daddy Burt back!
